Here is a useful tip for Putty users.
I recently got a new computer and needed to copy my saved servers to the new computer. After some digging around, I discovered they were saved in the Windows registry. Here is how to copy your Putty settings to a new computer:
- On the source computer, select the “Start—> Run” menu item.
- Type following command:
regedit /e "%userprofile%\desktop\putty.reg" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Simontatham
- Copy the putty.reg file to the other computer
- Double-click the putty.reg file to import the Putty settings.
